To truly appreciate all the nuances of our cuisine, let us share how the recipes we invite you to enjoy have been lovingly simmered over time.

It all began in the 1960s...

Ramón Martínez arrives in Elche from Granada, specifically from Cúllar. After opening his first bar, he decides to open a typical Andalusian wine and tapas tavern.

A restless soul, he began to introduce new ideas and improve the essence of the place with the help of his children Pedro, Ramón and Loli , who are fully committed to what we can now call Mesón El Granaíno, becoming a gastronomic reference in the area, with an unmistakable seal: a wide selection of tapas, montaditos, pinchos, traditional homemade stews, rice dishes and extremely fresh products from the best fish markets in the province and national and international suppliers, seasoned with a bar philosophy that guarantees fun and enjoyment at any time around seemingly simple proposals.

That essence has remained alive with every new generation.

Respecting what their predecessors have achieved, but constantly evolving, with an attitude of thinking about what the next step will be. This is what Odón and Begoña, the third generation of the family, have learned. They lead the way in this era, harmonizing tradition and quality with culinary innovation, in order to continue preserving the full personality of El Granaíno. They introduce touches of trendy cuisine, emphasizing the idea of combining humble market products with authentic gastronomic gems. And they strengthen the bar where having a good time goes hand in hand with indulging your taste buds.

El Granaíno has changed, but beneath the renovated walls the original essence remains:

the same familiar tavern, with its doors always open to make you feel at home—a family house full of memories, where we will continue to honestly cook up new experiences for you.
