Up-to-date traditional cuisine

El Granaíno's dishes combine tradition and modern tastes
El Granaíno’s dishes combine
tradition and modern tastes
El Granaíno’s menu is extensive, with tasty, wholesome dishes, with no room for experiments or adventure. Their deep-seated popular roots are to be found in traditional Spanish cookery, adapted to the highest of modern tastes.

The “soupy dishes” which are served on a daily basis are a good reason for food lovers to visit as they can taste a large variety of home-made recipes: from “grandmother’s lentils” or rabbit gazpacho with snails to one of its specialities: Granada stew.

The chefs base their work on a careful selection of the best raw ingredients which, whether from the sea or the fields, are suitable for the preparation of dishes which have been manipulated as little as possible. El Granaíno’s cuisine is the perfect combination of cuisine both from Elche and Granada.

Our desserts: A happy ending

Home-made desserts are one of the restaurant's delicacies

A surprise always lies in store when it comes to the moment for dessert in El Granaíno.

Our confectioners create, by hand, delicious suggestions capable of seducing those with the sweetest tooth. Their inspiration means that they can produce tasty and delicious seasonal creations, such as date ice-cream, which is very typical of Elche, millefeuilles with figs, calostros (a cheese-based dessert with a hint of cinnamon and an interesting texture)…

Also unforgettable are equally sublime classics such as gateaux: capuccino, cheesecake and blackberry… A world of flavours that transforms the after-dinner period into a party.

A long-lived tradition

When it rains in Elche, good migas (flour based dish, sometimes made using bread) are made in El Granaíno. Not just any old migas, but authentic Granada migas made from flour rather than bread.

Only a place which transforms a custom into a tradition is capable of empathizing with their customers’ culinary tastes. Let it rain!

Our tapas

The bar, a place of pilgrimage

El Granaíno’s bar is a place of worship among lovers of tapas. In recognition of its work, it received the prize for the best inn of the year from the Gourmetour Guide in the year 2002.

A wide variety is on offer, making the most of the richness of the Mediterranean products. A large selection of montaditos (small sandwiches), such as “el goloso” (“sweet-toothed”; mature cheese and honey) or “el bombero” (“the fireman”; mushrooms, peppers, spicy sauce), and delicious tapas, predominantly Iberian products, among which the exceptional array of Iberian acorn ham, fried octopus, potatoes with egg and peppers, etc.

Moreover, it is possible to try some of the dishes from the restaurant menu in the form of tapas.
